Meet Olympian Carrie Tollefson

Carrie’s running career is impressive. Born and raised in the small town of Dawson, Minn., she was a 13-time state champion in high school: eight in track and five in cross country. Her record of most consecutive cross-country titles still stands today. Carrie competed at Villanova University, where she was a 5-time NCAA Champion and the 1998 NCAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. In her post collegiate career, she won three national championships and earned the number one spot in the country in 2004 after winning the 1500-meter at the U.S. Olympic Trials. She represented the U.S. that same year in the Olympic games in Athens, making it to the semis.

You’ll hear her on ESPN and NBC Sports as a commentator at the Chicago, Boston and New York marathons, internationally at track and field championships, at home on her C Tolle Run podcast, and this summer she was a broadcaster for the track and field events at the 2024 Paris Summer Games!

Carrie writes all of our training programs at Moms on the Run and leads our annual destination run weekends. Carrie lives and trains in Minnesota with her husband Charlie and their three children: Ruby, Everett and Greer.
